I have some extra $$ to spend and I want to get a new laptop and upgrade my current computer. I was wondering what's the best OS/hardware for Photoshop CS4 for Windows.
I could see spending up to $2000 for the laptop, so that should get a very good one. I do want to get an 18 inch screen. This laptop is mainly for use around my house, so I won't be carrying it around much.
For upgrading my desktop, I want to keep my NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT cards as I have a 3 monitor setup that I like. I also want to keep the motherboard. I currently have an Intel E2180 processor @ 2.00 GHz, that's a socket 775 processor. I have 4 Gb of RAM. And I have XP Pro installed. I cannot get 64 bit Vista because I need to use a 32 bit VPN program to connect to work.
Thanks for any advice,
Andy

Hardware recommendationsFor the desktop it really depends on your motherboard's northbridge, whether it can accomodate the newer 45nm processors and how much max ram it can take. As for the laptop, can't give specifics there, you'll have to find some in your area that fit your budget and then come back so we can compare them.
