Automatic transcode settings question.

Hi all,

I understand what selecting the ''Automatic'' transcode setting means. Does selecting ''Automatic: 1440x1080i MPEG-2'' mean the Encore determines the optimal settings for transcoding but will be forced to use 1440x1080i MPEG2?

And can i assume that if i select the maximum quality check box in the transcode window as well, that Encore will be forced to use maximum quality along with 1440x1080i MPEG2 while Encore determines the optimal settings for transcoding for everything else?
